Welcome

The Mercer County Park Commission welcomes you to an exciting new ice skating season. Cathy Adamoyurka will be returning for her 25th season as our Skating Program Director and her 31st season of teaching at the rink. Paula Shomer will also be returning for her 24th season as our Assistant Program Director.


Program Goal

The Learn to Skate Program is a five week group lesson course designed to teach the basic skills of skating. All group lessons include class time and additional practice time. Students are divided into groups based on age and skating ability.


Rink Closures Due to Inclement Weather

All cancellations from inclement weather and class information will be posted on the home page of this website. Or call 609-371-1766 for a recorded message.


Proper Attire

  • Helmets required for ages 6 and under and all beginner classes, including adult
  • Gloves or mittens, one pair of socks
  • Warm, layered, non-restrictive clothing

Rules

  • Children must be a minimum of 4 years old to participate in the group lesson program.
  • Skaters 6 years of age or less not permitted classes or on the ice without a protective helmet.
  • All skaters are required to display their own up-to-date lesson program identification (ID) tag while on the ice. Lost ID tags can be replaced at the registration table. Replacement fee is $2.
  • Only skaters registered for classes are entitled to practice time.
  • No one on the ice without ice skates.
  • Skaters may only attend the classes and day that they have registered for.
  • No double-bladed skates are permitted.
  • Do not leave children unattended at the skating center.

Make-up Class & Refund Policy

No make-up classes will be offered, except for rink cancellations. Skaters will receive one public skating pass per session for a missed class. No refunds if rink closes due to inclement weather.


Directions

The Ice Skating Center is located in Mercer County Park. Once inside the park, look for the wayfinding signs to direct you to the Ice Skating Center.

 


MERCER COUNTY PARK — OLD TRENTON ROAD ENTRANCE


From NJ Turnpike take Turnpike South to Exit 8 at Hightstown. Follow Route 33 West and turn right on 571. Travel on 571 for 2 ½ miles to Route 535 and proceed 4 miles to entrance of Mercer County Park on the right.

From I-295 North take exit 63A toward NJ-33 E/Mercer County 535/Mercerville. Merge onto Hamilton Avenue at the 1st light take a slight onto Nottingham Way. Continue going straight for about 4 miles as Nottingham Way will turn into Edinburg Road/Old Trenton Road. The entrance for Mercer County Park will be on your left hand side.

From NJ-138 West take the ramp for I-195/Trenton. Continue on NJ-138 West which will become I-195 West for 26 miles. Take exit 7 toward Washington and merge onto County Route 526/Robbinsville Allentown Road and continue to follow County Route 526 for 2 miles. Continue onto NJ-33 then turn right onto County Road 526/Robbinsville Edinburg Road and continue to follow Robbinsville Edinburg Road for 3 miles. Turn left onto County Road 535/Mercerville-Edinburg Road/Old Trenton and the Mercer County Park entrance will be on your right.

MERCER COUNTY PARK — HUGHES DRIVE ENTRANCE


From I-95 North entering New Jersey take exit 8A toward Mercer County 546 E/Mercer County 583 S/Princeton Pike. Merge onto County Road 546/Benjamin Franklin Road/Franklin Corner Road and make left at the first light onto Franklin Corner Road. Continue to follow Franklin Corner Road, as you cross over Route 1 it will turn into Bakers Basin Road. At the fork in the road bear to the right and cross over Quakerbridge Road onto Youngs Road. At the end of the road turn right onto Hughes Drive and the Park entrance will on the left.

From US Route 1 South take the Quakerbridge Road Exit towards the Quakerbridge Mall. Travel almost 2 ½ miles and turn left on Hughes Drive. Proceed on Hughes Drive for ½ mile to entrance of Mercer County Park on the left.

From I-287 South take exit 17 to merge onto US-202 S/US-206 S toward US-22 W/Somerville/Flemington. Merge onto US-202 S/US-206 S for about 1 mile. Merge onto US-206 S via the ramp to New Jersey 28/Somerville/Princeton. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit and stay on US-206 S. Continue on US-206 S/State Road and continue to follow US-206 S for 12 miles. Turn left onto NJ-27 N and take the 1st right onto County Rd. 583/Mercer Street. Turn left onto County Rd. 533/Quaker Road and continue to follow County Road 533. Turn left onto Quakerbridge Road and continue of Quakerbridge Road for about 2 miles. Turn left onto Hughes Drive and the Park Entrance will be about a ½ mile down the road.
